You had very clever creativity going here with the wasp having its own reflection against a shiny gold. I do not think I would have ever thought of that. Great photo ideas. Interesting outcome!

an ole yellow jacket. oh yeah im familair with them. they have short life cycles so maybe he was near his end when you came across him. great set up that you did to capture this. the angle of the shot of this yellow jacket and its reflection is excellent. the capture of the light is perfect. the clarity is excellent. the presentation is well balanced and very eye appealing to the viewer. very creative and awesome work overall(standing clapping and cheering) woooooooooooohhhhooooooooooooooooooo!!

A good looking image posted here into the competition! Can hardly believe what you did considering your mortal fear of wasps!! Composition, exposure and sharpness are all fine. Well done and good luck!

What an ingenious artist you are, Charlotte. It isn't an easy leap from sleepy wasp to seeing yellow photo contest - always thinking. Not to mention the fear factor.
The image is as sharp as can be, note the hairs, veiny wings, and segmented body parts. The colors are true.
Good luck in the contest!

Hi Charlotte, This little guy must have been cold! Love how you managed to capture him (without getting stung) and show him off this way! Love both the reflection and the wasp itself. Love how you can see him upside right and upside down. Makes a very cool image! Both the lighting and focus are great! I think it's a great image for the contest! Love the thought that went into this! Sorry I don't have any sixes! Good luck in the contest! :o) Nancy

This would have been difficult to capture and you did it amazingly. Your composition shades tones and use of light is very well done and executed. Love the light effects that highlight your subject perfectly.

Wow Charlotte! This has got to be the most creative image I have seen of a wasp ! I am impressed ! You have photographed it well and brought out such great detail in the wasp and its reflection!
Spot on focus, this image is clear, exposure is well managed, colors and tones appear natural.
Well composed and presented! The yellow color on its body make this a great entry for this contest! Best wishes to you!

Charlotte, you had a great idea for this capture. I hear your bane, wasps are nasty. This came out great, sometimes a different point of view makes all the difference and the gold card brought it all home. Ray
