From experience I can almost guarantee that 20 people could walk by this scene and not but 2 give it a second thought.
Congratulations Hal, your one of the few who can see.
The contest qualifications aside, this is a most remarkable shot. A full scale of earth tones for a foreground to frame the reflecting pool - bravo.
The positioning and scale of the reflecting pool caused me to not see it when I first opened your post. When I recognized what I was looking at I had to catch my breath - what a gift.
The other surprise for the eyes is the color morphing from foreground earth tones then background blue range - a visual feast.
From a color reproduction point of view, all the colors seen are reproduced with equal vibrancy across the entire color spectrum of the shot and, most importantly to my eyes, do not appear to be enhanced. This cameras color rendition software is excellent.
I think you who favor the iPhone and the like have a distinct advantage over us old time shooters. In that you don't have to spend a lot of time calculating an exposure technique which allows more time in the composition and framing phase of the process.
Anyway, pardon me, I tend to ramble on. This post is one of the finest "first post" I have seen on this site.
This is a really strong entry for this contest good luck and let's see more... Bob

Welcome to FAR and a good first post with the vibrant blue skyline reflected in the puddle. The landscape is well composed with the path leading the eye into the background growth. Lovely to view.

This is a beautiful and interesting photograph presented here. I love the solitary tree in the wilderness and the very clever capture of the reflection in the puddle. Good luck in the contest.
