Straight forward shot of this building but think a vertical one and maybe a bit more to the left in this would have made a bit more of this place...Brian

I like the angle of the shot, but I think a vertical view would have shown the gate more completely as with this view the top and bottom are cut off. Nice focus and clarity showing the color and clarity of the brick work.

A beautiful view, indeed, Nik. I love the scene and how this brick and earth tone colored structure created a striking contrast with the greeneries all around. This surely evoked a feeling of calmness. You have composed and captured this well.

Hi Nik..

Initial impact: A bright take with eye catching geometry of the stonework.
Creativity of presentation: The framing of this Tower Gate could be improved. Scale is intended in the title yet by cropping/cutting off the top and lower half of the entry defeats the attempt at portraying scale of size.
Color Harmony: Narrow color band. All colors appear natural and unenhanced.
Center of Interest: The C of I is the tower structure and it is not completely seen.
Technical Excellence: No issues.
Technique: No issues
Lighting: Even medium light, nice contrast.
Story Telling Ability: Minimal due to framing issue.
Recommendation(s): If you have the original image and it has all of the tower wash it through photoshop and convert it to B&W... Bob

It's a beautiful old structure and you have photographed it well with spot on focus, this image is clear and your exposure is correct, colors and tones appear true and natural. I feel that this would have been better if shot in the vertical format leaving more room at the top and bottom frame. You have brought out such well defined detail .
Thank you for sharing.

The contrast between the surrounding foliage and the tower gate, really works well in this image and tinge of green either from pollen or fallen leaves, that have left a residue to green/yellow on the roof, interestingly leaves the viewer finding harmony in the shot. I have studied the image, and I'm presuming the bricks coming off the building (on the right side of the tower gate) are the stairs (rails)... I love that design. The image hosts an abundance of compositional elements with repeated patters, shapes and lines. Nice!!

This is a traditional design. It is pleasing to the eyes and inviting to enter the garden. You framed it well, and the light, shadows, colours, and composition worked well. Good effort!
