Mark,
A beautiful & dramatic unusually coloured sunset sky that's then reflected on the river's glistening surface. The gold of the sun's disc seen glowing through the trees growing along the River Murray. Artistic composition, framing & lighting taken with superb camera techniques& sharp focus. Good luck in the contest.

Hi Mark.. Can't say I have ever seen the like of a sunset in Lavender, fascinating.

Initial impact: Since this the only Lavender sunset I have ever seen, I would have to say there is a substantial amount of visual impact connected with this contest entry.
Creativity of presentation: The emphasis is all on the color of the sky, but the dark ominous shapes on the left is a bit of as distraction.
Color Harmony: Colors are bright and inter supportive of the scene.
Center of Interest: Of course, the lavender sky is the star but the reflection off the water is a scene stealer.
Technical Excellence: This particular phone has a better than average sensor. I can see very well-defined and sharp edge lines.
Technique: I have no issue with chosen technique.
Lighting: Lighting is diffused and even. No blown out areas and no over saturation - easy to view.
Story Telling Ability: A colorful turn for an end of the day tale.
Recommendation(s): Overall, this is a fine entry for the contest and should do well. If possible, in the future I would consider a low-level strobe flash with a diffuser. That will put just enough light to see more detail on the left.

Good Luck in the contest... Bob

Spectacular photography of the natural scenery that is unique and nicely presented.
The deep purple colors with the dark silhouettes of the trees are a great contrast with the little clear white sky left on the horizon.
Nice work Mark!

It's quite a different take on the coloursâ€"out-of-the-box! You framed it well, and the light, shadows, colours, and composition worked well. Good luck!

Not sure about the alien looks more like a skull, that aside as a sunset the color is quite strange but has a quality of a semi silhouette in this and the tree/bush on the left do add something to this as it leads you onto the scene [which is good]...Brian

This is a beautiful entry into the contest. The magenta colors in the sky and reflected in the water are very unusual but lovely and mystical in nature. Good luck in the contest.

I love this unique color of the sky that looks like a shade of magenta. The silhouettes of the trees are pretty dramatic and added depth in this scene. Clarity of ripple and vivid colors of water reflections. Mark, this scene is more than amazing and you have composed and captured this well.

This has such a surreal look because of the grape colored sky and its reflection on the water.
I love the trees and the way they stand silhouetted against this sunset .
Well captured with good focus, this image is sharp and clear and you have made good use of the light.
Colors and tones appear to be fantastic , I see the alien in the sky up there on the right!
Well composed and presented!

A good-looking image presented here into the competition! Your fine and classical composition gives us an enjoyable view of that amazing dusk developing there. Exposure and sharpness are fine. Well done and good luck!
