A good looking image posted here into the competition, together with informative notes too! Your fine and classical composition gives us an enjoyable view of that lovely bird and its location. Exposure and sharpness are fine. Well done and good luck!

Informative artist's notes. It is interesting to know that Puffins are "clowns of the sea.". I love the title which is consistent with the scene. Indeed, this bird is ready for a feast. Great angle, lighting, focus and framing. Love the gentle light and the plain background. The colors are pretty prominent and even the feet is so vibrant. Overall a great shot and stellar entry.

Thank you so much for your great review! I do love puffins, they're such funny little birds. He would probably have been taking his catch to his puffling, stowed safely in its burrow, rather than eating them himself.

This is a good photo of this puffin and of course a long lens was needed for this one and therefore the dof is good as well, but like the fact you have taken this with food in its mouth as well, good notes as well...brian

Thanks Brian, yep I used a 300mm lens. I was so chuffed when I finally managed to capture one with fish in his beak, they don' hang around for long!

How wonderful visual presented here of this puffin. It's amazing how much food he can put in his mouth. Composition shades, tones, colours and background are very beautifully presented here. Thank you for sharing.

Great shot of this Puffin bird with fish in beak and interesting notes as well. I give this five only because there are two artefacts in the sky that is not too late to fix. Great focus, texture, clarity and composition. Colours appear natural and vibrant. Lighting is good and you have a pleasant blue background bokeh. Well done and good luck in the contest :-)

Hi Mark, thanks for your review and for pointing out the 2 blemishes in the sky - I hadn't even noticed them! I've now dealt with them (I think!), perhaps you could have a quick look and let me know?

What a magnificent photo of the puffin. Feathered grace in its purest form, a bird in its natural habitat. You framed it well, and the light, shadows, colours, and composition worked well. Good luck!!

Charlotte,
A beautiful stop action picture of this Puffin with a beak full of small fish on it's way back to it's nest to feed it's fast growing chick. Beautiful composition framing and lighting taken with superb camera techniques and sharp focus.
I've seen them in Iceland and at Kilmore Quay in Co. Wexford.
Susan
