I love the title and the expressive portrait of a praying woman. I like the textures of the hair and the facial features are well-defined. The greeneries at the background is so refreshing and made a nice contrast with the blond hair. High on substance and this is a portrait with a message to tell. Nice piece, Janice.

Hi Janice - I don't recall every reviewing any of your work before. (I just came back to FAR after a 3 1/2-year hiatus).
This is a beautiful pastel drawing / portrait. Your skill for detail, scale and lighting is impressive to say the least. While I acknowledge she is praying (i.e., your notes) and therefore a lovely entry for the contest.... For me I see a young women taking a deep breath and harnessing the strength to tackle what's ahead of her or rather exhaling and letting go of what's been. You've drawn her with a lovely nature background and the colors all work together and yet contrast nicely. I'm most blown away with your skin tone as well as your ability to define her neck muscles. I look forward to seeing more of your work in the future - good luck in the contest.

This is a beautiful pastel portrait of this young woman praying to her God. The portrait is very clear and well defined. The colors and detail are apparent and well done. Good luck in the contest

A good looking image presented here into the competition! Your fine, full and appropriate composition offers us a very enjoyable view of your of that lovely young woman praying very seriously. Wonder what thing(s) she was praying to Lord about? Well drawn!
