Wow! I really like this, Ray! Opals are one of my favorite gems! For you to be able to capture the beauty in a painting is a wonderful feat! The curvature of the stone and the white glare makes it look so realistic. Great work!

Hi Ray, Love how you got the sparkling e I ements of opal in your pendant. This comes across very much like the magic an opal possess. Love the color choices and the highlights. I also like the angle of the pendant. I think you did an awesome job creating this! So worth 6 stars in my book! Very nice! :o) Nancy

It can't be easy to picture an opal because of all the different colors you can find in them. I think you have done a great job, and you have even managed to bring out the fine shine in the gem.
I especially like the dark background because it makes both the chain and opal pendant to stand out so well It is also easy to see that this is done paying such a good attention to details and with good use of high lights.
The pendant has got such a fine diagonal placement within the frame and the format is perfect. It is a fine balance in the composition. I think this is a truly lovely and well done painting Ray.

Oh my goodness ! At first glance, I thought ' Ray has presented a photograph "I read your notes twice ! This is off the charts Ray , I am in awe! What a beautiful opal pendant with gold setting and chain, this looks like it could be an heirloom piece, it's amazing to me that this is not a photo, look at the chain and the part that it attaches to on the pendant setting , the opal itself is gorgeous the opal is a special stone and I have heard it can bring luck to the wearer if it is their birthstone.
The placement within the frame is perfect , it's as if I am looking at this in a showcase.
Very impressive work here and I'm sure you are quite pleased with this too , you certainly should be! Very well presented!

I love gem stones especially opals, they are the most valuable and in my eyes the most beautiful. At initial glance, I thought this was a photograph! Your eye for detail is most evident in this painting. The chain, the clasp and the dried floral remnants in this composition is stunningly detailed and masterfully executed. Your knowledge of light and how it produces reflection is further demonstrated in this piece.
The dark background (your black paper I presume) works well left alone to showcase this precious pendant.
