What a beautiful portrait of this wood duck.
It is a great contender for the contest. I love that the shot is up close showing the viewer so much detail of those beautifully colored feathers. The reflection off the water just adds to the overall beauty.

Hi LeeAnn , I know how hard it is to capture one of these guys! They are extremely shy! I often hear their squeaky wings as they take off never actually seeing them. If I had to I'd crawl on the ground to get a shot too! Lol You did a great job capturing this male wood duck! Love the focus, lighting and especially the subject! :o) Nancy
