A lovely example of the wet into wet technique. Color balance and harmony are good. Background needs to enhance subject more adequately, and to offer more color value. Plan ahead and follow through. However this is certainly the foundation for greater things Regards Rod.

This looks like you put a lot of effort into it and i can appreciate that! I would have like to see a little more distinction in the details and it looks like you might have had a bit of trouble controlling your water. Do I see drips on the rose leaf? Keep at it, this is a good start!

I wonder if you know anything about watercolour painting by your remarks? The drops are intentional and I did pass the watercolour art course with the Open University College of Art, so please do not be so patronising!

I really like the soft almost agelic colors and tones in this! I like the background and the way it does not take from your picture but add depth and interest to your subjects. You have made the sizing of the flowers very correct and this also adds to your depth! Great compostion and great presentation.

Lovely watercolor of these roses. Both are great in their own right. One just beginning life and the other in full life. Love the stronger hue of pink along the right edge of the bottom one especially and then how it fades to a lesser hue. The shape and detailed work I think is quite lovely and I'm sure took a good bit of time. The lower petals are lovely and they are in line with the others on the left side. The leaves for this rose I find lovely and like the feel to the sun reflecting on them. Like how you show the leaf growing out of the stem. The other leaves about are nice and give a good contrast instead of just empty space. The other rose is lovely and like the colors you used there as well. Like the strong colored look of that stem. Showing young and old. Very lovely painting and enjoyed viewing your painting. Annie

This is a very beautiful way to remember the roses you received. This is a wonderful piece of art. The colors that you used in the background help to highlight the flowers delicate petals. It is very pretty indeed.

This must be one of my favorite of your paintings - all these soft complimentary colors all over - the perfect shapes on the petals and the little bud - all the different colors in the background which is fading out to the edge - all together - A really beautiful painting - I just love it - all of it.. thanks..

Very beautifully painted example of watercolour.
I love the tones that you have put in the background to suggest other flowers there, and the frgility of the overall presentation.
Colours are fabulous.... funny because I was going to do one like this , as we have same roses in our garden! I shall have to pick something else.Well done!
