I think the picture would have looked better if you had used a lighter background. Also, u could have used a little bit more light around the eyes and the nose to give a more shape. Overall I think the picture has captured the expression of the cat well.

Thank you. Actually the photo came out a lot darker than the actual painting I'm afraid as I'm no good with the camera.

I love the picture you have painted here, it looks very real. I initially thought it was a photo. The background color is nice and the detail in the strokes are perfect as I can see the texture of her hair and the whiskers. You are very talented.

The dark side of animal rescue is that there are few of us. My wife and I have 18 to 21 cats (inside and out, tame, abandoned and feral) that we take care of. Going to a "Paws on the Patio" event to support our local animal shelter and will be taking photos. Thanks for your capture and your good deeds Suzanne.

Many thanks for your great review. Yes, my daughter, so-in-law and I just can't resist them!

I wish I could give you more stars for this. I love artists like yourself who can simply portray their subject. I have to do detailed images in all I paint, but only feel comfortable doing it that way. But I enjoy and appreciate your easy handling. I do give you 100 stars for your love of stray cats. We have two ourself. Keep up both jobs.

initial impact 5
color 4.5
creativity 4.5
story telling 5
love the cat and how you and son rescued it. the dark blue background seems to be a distraction and takes away from the natural colors of the cat.

Thank you. Yes, I'm afraid I'm no good with the camera and the background came out darker than it actually is!

You're worse than my daughter and son for fetching critters home. We've had everything including baby skunks. This morning a huge bear came in the yard, the third this year. Thankfully he went away without having to really discourage him.
This seems darker than most of your stuff. Is it the exposure used to reproduce it. Other than that it's really well done. Those eyes are marvelous.

First rate Suzanne and wonderful use of the medium. Black subjects are so difficult to render and you've done a fantastic job here. Background dead-on as well. Bravo! Traditional Artists Unite!

Love the angle that you chose to do this from. The lilac background does so well to set off those green eyes. You have conveyed the vulnerability of this precious little creature convincingly. Nice work and thanks for sharing.
