very unique picture.I liked the ancient look you have showed with the brown variation on the book. The texture in the surrounding goes very well with the title given.the composition is great with perfect brightness and contrast.nice work.

What a clever idea and so brightly created. Most impressions done of old time objects and memories is bathed in sepia or mellow yellow hues. Your rendition really sings.

I don't know if its cos I have just looked at your oriental piece but this too has an eastern quality. The red sun in the centre and the clear red bookmark add an easten feel and symbolism to the piece. I particularly like the texture on the book pages and to the left of the picture it adds an old, almost ancient quality which suits the subject matter

Comment from Heartfelt Annie
Really like this one. As you said, days of old. When life was simple and the written word really had value and meaning, I think anyway. The ink bottle is lovely in design and like the color as well as the textured feel you gave it. Really like the view of the book with the worn and torn pages. Wondering about the page on the right because the bottom is aged but the top appears that something was taken out??? Great job with the stylus. Not so easy to write with these unless you practice some. Piece of cake for this era. The hurricane lamp is very well down and has that kind of soft textured look there as well and like the soft muted light on it. The sun in the background says....days of ole...to me. Like the shadow you gave the book. Overal it's quite lovely. Am wondering what the symbols are upper right??? Love the background as well with the colors you chase and even how you kept the one side in the light. Really enjjoyed this creaton as well. Annie

Thank you, Annie. To answer a couple of your questions. I'm glad you noticed that it does appear that something was taken out of the book, and I will leave that to your imagination. Although I own a stylus, I rarely use it. 99% of my work is done with my mouse in Paint Shop Pro 9. The symbols at the top are just my signature. Thanks again, Annie for your positive comments.
