I like the composition and layout/placement. Lighting looks ood to me. There may be some slight focus issue, but that might also just be the size I'm seeing it, I can't tell if that's in the original or not. I also wonder if it's possible to make some of the splashes stand out a little more.

Thanks. I appreciate your kind review very much. The lighting isn't odd down here. That is the tropical sun. I It's a complete different light what I never have seen anywhere but in the Caribbean. That is what the call the sparkling turquoise of the Caribbean. You are may right with the slight focus issue since there are water drops all over. Through I can't see it in the original but that may be my eyes they are bad. Its inpossible to make the splashes stand out more. To do this I would have to use Mixed Media what the contest rules permit.

Thanks very much. There is a problem with sharpening. It's probably a focus issue since the focus may is confused by the water drops allover. It's as a very fine haze over all of the picture.
-
Use Unsharp Mask in photoshop, it would surely take away the hazy look. :)
-
I don't have photoshop.
-
Opssss!!!!
-
But I have some other programs to try sharpen. I'll try. :)
-
Yeah sure do if it helps :)

Thanks :)

i like how it's all blue except for him there, off balance but not anything wrong with it. i like the color of the water, cool picture, not worth 6, but defineitly worth 5.

Thanks so much for your gracious review. I don't quite understand the 'out of balance' but that's probaly me.

This is a cool pic!
i like the kid's face !
and the water splashing in the air is pretty awesome !
maybe if the picture was a little more cropped so all the water isn't distracting you from the boy .

Thanks you very much. I appreciate your gracious review. I have a more cropped version but I liked this one better with all the water splashes around him.

Very nice photo, the color of the water is well capture, once can see the joy/effort the boy is having
I think that cropping it as I mark will make the center of interest better
Well done, nice to review

Thank you very much for your generous review. I have cropped versions including on similar to yours but I decided for this one. I like the splashing water below his feet to much to crop it off.

What a stunning contrast between his skin colour and the blue of the water, beautiful! The reason for deducting half a star here - altho technically this is absolutely perfect as far as adhering the rules of thirds etc..- but with such a great expression on his face and the movement of the water splashing at his head, this would be excellent closer up, as it will not only emphasise his facial expression and focus more on your subject, but also the movement. A beautiful photo!

Thanks very much four your generous review. I have a cropped version almost similar to your suggestion but I decided against it. I like the splashing water all around him including the big splash on his feet plus in the closer up somehow the photo is loosing impact. I think it's may a slight focus diffusion caused by that thin water drops almost as a fin curtain over the boy including his face.

Aaah, yes that totally explains why you used this wider view...I know exactly what you mean about, I had the samething with a 'just for fun' pic I posted today of the kissing rainbow lorikeet, then I thought, oh what the heck, I am cropping closer and yes it is grainy I know, but the expressions were just cute and I just wanted people to see the lighter side of some wild birds..so what if they think it is a 3star...it will give a few people a good laugh! take a look at that for a 'grainy' problem!:o)

This is an excellent picture the way you took it. I like the way you see him in the water and all the detail in the splash in the water. An excellent picture. Good luck in the contest.
