I really like this photograph. It tells a strong story. The main focus is on the person and is surrounded by images of moments she has held onto. Well planned and executed. Very creative.

I am having a bit of trouble trying to figure this photo out. I am not really understanding the meaning of it. It has a lot of content but the elements to me seem to be all over. I am thinking it has to have something to do with the passing of time??? I also think the blue background is a bit strong for the rest of the elements..

Thank you lippy, I appreciate your honest review. Did you read the song lyrics in my comments? The picture is the visual expression of the song. Of curse there are elements all over but they are organized. The water and the color of the background is the symbol of eternity as Einsteins E=me2 in the right corner of curse symbolizes the relativity of time. But for us as human beings time is not eternal neither relative but pretty real. That is were the time piece [the clock] comes in. If you now look again at the picture you will see that the clock is crossed by a diagonal arrangement of figures symbolising the stations in ones life beginning with the child in the left corner in sepia as a fading photo symbolising the more distant memories. It is a look back, a resume of the presence and a look into a promising feature symbolised also by the color change from left to right. I hope this help you to figure the picture out better but feel free to ask if you have any further questions.

honestly, I did not read the lyrics. I have to apologize I can only say that I was so busy looking at the picture I forgot about the caption part. I am reading your description now and did not know that the water and color were those symbols and I have never really known the meaning of the E=me2. Now I understand the clock and I didn't understand the diagonal when I was looking at it. Ok so now that I understand that part I like the meaning it is just very abstract and I think it might be on a bit of an higher plain of thinking than I am used to. I will have to read this a few times to fully understand its meaning. Perferably when my children are not interrupting me with every little thing. I like it more now that I understand it. I really think it is alot of things in one picture which may have been part of my issue. I think it might have really helped for just the average person or even most people to have some of that info you just gave me in your description to read while looking at the painting. I will definitely relook at this later tonight when my children find another place called bed to go to so I can really sit and concentrate on the whole concept. Thanks for explaining it to me...

No worry...You know you have a good point with your review. A picture should be understand without words. But in this case I had to interpret a song and a by the contest given theme.

Oh the contest thing. Now I understand the complexity. This was a contest where you made a picture about a song. I think that would be difficult for me. Someone used my one picture today for a poem and I had to ask her to explain the poem. Poetry and me..not a good mix...I will keep my eyes open for more of your work and try to figure it out. You let me know if I get it. I always wanted to know how the art cureters figure so much out of a simple painting that just has lines and things like that. I need to learn to look beyond the paper.

I think you learn fast. There is just one trick to it, looking at pictures.
I know it works. Practice is all it needs.

Excellent depiction of the chosen theme. It's nostalgic, symbolic, brings back memories. I love the choice of darker, yet softer colours, they totally bring up the mood. There is a great story and an atmosphere. Great work, thanks for sharing this and for bringing back great memories for me :)
