Nice photo of such a sad place. It is a constant reminder of what one man thinks of himself. Great story, gread subject matter. Thanks for sharing.

for me, this is the middle of your trilogy. they make a nice [only in description] story when put together. I like this shot as it takes me into the middle. Again a bleak exposure on a bleak day with good depth and nice framing. I bet your were moved by this place and its history.

Thank you very much. I was moved, and the experience is still sitting in my bones. It was really hard to imagine all this horror.

Initial Impact: Emotional - journalistic.
Story Telling: Good potential.
Artist notes: Descriptive, however capture information has not been shared.
Composition: Good POV to place subject at focal point.
Framing: Good
Lighting: The lighting is even across the subject with nice touches of contrast that add interest.
Color: Natural
Focus: Sharp
DOF: Works well to enhance subject
Bokeh: na
Overall: A nice capture.
Thanks for sharing Annie.

Thank you very much. I have to pull myself together about capture information. I did it wit a few of my photos, and then I forgot I was supposed to do just that. At least you have to give me credit for my notes. I review a lot of photos without any notes at all.

Yes I agree the background is very valuable and I do not deduct, only comment, about the capture info. If you right click on your saved jpeg photo, go to 'properties', quite often the capture info is there saved as meta data with the image. I only mention this because there are some who would like to know how an image on this site was captured (camera, lens, shutter speed, f-value, 'manual vs auto', etc.) so they can do it themselves as part of their learning experience. /john

Absolutely outstanding piece of work. Well composed and shot even under these conditions. It speaks volumes of history and man's ability to take land that might have been beautiful and promising and make it bleak and destructive. I would suggest cloning the apparatus in the upper left corner out.

Thank you very much. You are right about the left corner. Must admit that I did overlook that.

Photographically this is the better of the two photos and could be cropped a little to make the design elements more interesting. Thanks.

This is one place I am intending to visit in the near future. Although in the summer months. I can imagine the feeling in this place you had. This image captures the spirit well with the sign at the gate. Well composed imagine and a great story in the notes that depicts the history

Again, very moving, so much emotion built up in these shots. I like the added interest of the person taking a photo and the element of falling snow. And that sign, wow . . what a chiller.
