This is a true photographers dream. I try to do similar shots but they all fly away; and the ones that don't fly never stay in the same spot!

very nice clarity of your POI for the 70/300 lens. Lighting, exposure, wb all in good balance. Background tells where he is w/o being too much of a distraction. Very nice of him to pose for you! Good luck in the contest.

You really caught the beauty of this bird. Focus seems to be more on the body than the head, though. The bokeh is good and allows the heron to be shown off at its best. I wonder if he caught his fish
