Oh my goodness, it's a wonder you didn't all freeze to death! I've never seen so much ice. Despite all that white you've still got good colour in the bird box, well done on that. And thanks for cooling me down.

Great, almost whimsical shot. The poor birds, and yourselves without power. For a point and shoot this is superb. Focus, composition, exposure are great. The color really makes me shiver.

this has been one of our easiest winters in years..how odd..hope the weather is ok when I drive through in a few days! I always leave my blue bird boxes open, to keep the squirrels from chewing them up and sheltering in them. But then, we wouldn't have this great winter sad shot! Donkeyoatey

Oh my, a great contest entry Willie! Can feel the cold of not only the ice but the stark whiteness of the snow. Nice sharp image with good framing to give the whole impact of the chill. Nice and best of luck in the contest!

this is a wonderful narrative and capture. It makes me think what happened to the blue birds? Where did they go. Can they survive in an ice box. The framing and the light is good the focus excellent and the overall picture very interesting. Thanks

Great picture that conveys the low temperatures really well. Icicles have turned out really well. I feel cold just looking at this.
