Scary good depiction of this dragon fly. The eyes are really hypnotic. Positioned to take off. The deep vivid green makes nice contrast with its black body. The reflection in the leaf also impressive.

This is an excellent close up of a dragonfly and also an excellent entry for the contest. A photo can't get much more greener than this. I like your idea about sitting in a car when you take a photo, but you also have to be lucky to get a butterfly or as in this case a dragonfly, to settle down at a certain height above the ground.
Your focus is very sharp showing very good details in the dragonfly. Especially the head and the feet are standing out nicely. I also like the shadow from the wings in the leaf. The exposure is spot on and the green colors are truly lovely.
I like the tight cropping you have done and the placement of the dragonfly within the frame. Your image is nicely balanced and with excellent DOFF. Good luck with the contest.
