Great action shot, and well framed. The focus is very slightly soft, but the wing positions, the splash and the reflective water are super. Well captured!

Lovely photo with a wonderful pose on the bird. He looks quite graceful, like Fred Astaire, light on his feet! And the way he kicks up a little water is a great touch.
A few suggestions: There is a lot of noise in the bg. I would run it through a de-noise programs like Topaz'. I think it's a little dark and would brighten it. The focus is a bit soft, although at a distance that isn't as noticeable. Paula

Thank you so very much! He was flying strait towards me so the focus was a little hard to control. This was a very fast scene! Also the sun caused bad shaddows. I posted it mainly because of his wings. Thanks for the advise!

I am a big fan of pictures of Great Blue Herons, I take alot of them myself and I think this is an amazing shot, timing of this was perfect and the clarity and sharpness are beautiful. Great job.
