Love, love, love this painting! The colors are amazing and I love the use of lighting and shadows! My only question is, where is the green? Best of luck in the contest!

thank you thank you. I'm loosely using the Irish reference to explain the green.

This is a beautiful portrait painting of Paula, I am not an art critic but I love the detail, lighting and shadowing it really gives her character. Excellent art work:)

Fantastic portrait. Great details. Like the way you have captured her character particularly her strength, warmth and intellect. Love the colour palette you have used. Thanks for sharing.

This is excellent work that brings out the enduring beauty in a woman of advancing years. That beauty is more than skin deep and shines luminously through the crows' feet and other "experience lines".
The portrait is full of character, which brings it to life. As much as anything else, that's due to artist's careful attention to small irregularities, such as the slight droop of the subject's left eyelid, the asymmetric creases above the nose and the way one neck cartilage extends down further than the other.
The rich blue of the subject's blouse, reflected in her eyes, together with the discrete pendant earring, present a picture of her as a woman of class, intelligence and distinction.

Nice painting of a lady with great details. However, I am confused since this is a contest entry for the color green and I don't see any green in this at all. But the details and shading are very good.

extremely well painted. The colouring and lighting is fantastic, it really makes the painting jump out at you. I take it the painted green reference is because she is Irish? Clever little take on the contest if it is. Huge thumbs up for this will keep an eye out for your work, you are very talented
