You certainly were at the right place at the right time! An amazing and amusing shot of this adorable little guy. Never seen a hummingbird nest, either, so that is a real treat! Great work on this one.

I love wildlife and Humming birds are one of my favorite birds. A well executed shot all round. I bet you was chomping at the bit waiting for your lens to be fixed, but as they say, patience is a virtue. Well Done!
Sheldon.

wow. this is a cool shot. you found something unique for sure. Looks as if the light was not in your favor on this one. I wonder if there could have been a way to get a better vantage point for this shot as well.

This is a brilliant shot! Great camera technique. Good composition and exposure. The little bird looks like it is ready to leave the nest. Love the story that goes with it.

Thank you so very much! They left about a week after this.

Really interesting photograph. Photographically, extra sharp focus is very nice and depth of field allows for slight blur of background. Makes for a great backdrop for the shot. Good use of diagonals, but the best part is that it is just a neat shot. One that keeps you looking at it; just what an artist wants.

Thank you so very much! The nest is made from cottonwood fiber and held together with spider web. The nest will expand as the babies grow.

Very cute bird. Is that his nesting bed on him; (the green spots?) I like the position he's in. Just so cute. Thanks for sharing this moment.

Thank you so very much! The nest is made from cottonwood fiber and held together with spider web. The green spots is tree liken. It is a common thing but very hard to find. This is the third nest I have ever seen.
