yes the male species in birds are more colorful than the females. their is a very noticable different in the cardinal, because of his beautiful red feathers. the female is lighter red than the male, but just as beauty. nice closeup of a female cardinal eating some sun flower seeds. i like the natural selection of complementary colors working together in the red and green. very nice choice of subject matter. thanks for sharing.
