You have done a great job detailing the water flow in this painting. You show it's force and detail nicely with great color.

I should have been updated with art materials since I'm not aware that there is such a thing as water soluble or mixable oil paints. I can't imagine water and oil mixing together.
Anyway, this is a living testimony of the process and it looks like its easy to mix and render. Love the dreamy brushstrokes of the lower falls and the cloudy skies.
The multi colored trees are impressive.
However, that white patch on the trees seem a bit distracting... Is it a reflection?
Nevertheless, this is still an outstanding landscape artwork...

Thank you very much for your nice review. That white patch isn't actually on the painting but shows up on the photograph - not quite sure why! These water mixable oils by Winsor & Newton, Artisan make, are good to work with as you don't get the lingering smell of turps and linseed oil and they also dry quickly. Maybe you could try them? Beautiful. I didn't get to see much wilderness, during my stay in England. I see I missed some breathtaking views.

Like the soft tones in this work. The composition is very good and thank you for your notes informing the viewer where this scene is. I like the textures in the work which might be down to your brush strokes or could be the canvas you have used. Very pretty and very well executed.

Suzanne, this is amazing. The dark ominous clouds as a dynamic counterpoint to the swift river, as the living trees and immutable rock stand on as witness. So beautiful. Nature can be, and in fact always is, remarkable. cainse

Good composition and clouds are well done. You have good drawing perspective, but no colour perspective where the colours become less intense and fade with distance. If you could do that, your painting would have a lot more depth visually. Your water tumbling over the rocks and reflected light from the sky are both well done!

Hi, I like this impressionistic style, the water is very lifelike, the stairs give a special interest to the painting, and the reddish colours in the background bring it to life. Nice job.
