I like the way the nose is done on this dog, and the brush strokes suggesting the hair growth. I like the background. I feel like the eye on the right needs to be lowered just slightly, but perhaps you were working from a photograph.

Being a dog lover and owner, I feel of you, when my dog goes to heaven, I get a puppy, name him the same, and have the same pet for years to come. He has a ivery sweet face, and your a talented artist. Colors are well chosen, making his head pop. Very well done!

Beautiful detail and sharp image. Looks like a playful dog. Dogs usually have there toung out. The eyes look great.

It is a very nice painting and the wonderful story that goes along with it, is amazing. My pets now, since my own children are grown, are my babies at the house and each of them is treated as a small child. Matter of fact all three of them think they are human and not dogs. I really like the look of this painting and the blue background is a really nice touch. I think you did a really good job with the proportional design of your painting except for one thing, the eyes. The ears, nose, and mouth are exceptional and the way you painted in the fur is fantastic. But there is something you need to do with the eyes. And it's not that they are really bad, they just look a bit turned upwards. I think maybe you just highlighted them a little bit to much. Try darkening them just a little and see if that doesn't change it some. But I really do like it. It's a really good painting, but it does have the potential of being a great painting.

Many thanks for your great review. Yes, I know what you mean about the eyes - she was looking up in the photo but I didn't think they looked really right!

You are welcome for the review, and one little glitch doesn't destroying a work of art. But I would the next time or before you do another painting like that play around with the eyes until you feel good about them. And I would try to darken them up, take away some of the light reflection in them and you'll fine that you really did a great job.
