A mysterious piece of jewellery

I was first struck by the shape of the subject and then by its colours. Greens are browns work so well together, as nature shows us in foliage for example. This looks like a locket to me and somewhere in your notes I think you have mentioned jewellery. I used to be a collector of vintage costume jewellery, American pieces in particular. The metal has a filigree look and this was popular in lots of pieces, made from base metals which would then be decorated. Like your framing and your focus is sharp. The background colour, which touches of lavender, certainly adds to the appeal of the photograph and enhances the subject.

Thank you very much! I appreciate your thoughtful review, but I admit I have fooled you. This piece of jewellery is not real. It is a make up from parts of two photos of a cell phone cover which was decorated with a fake gemstone peacock. The green center is made from digitally mirrored parts of the tail. It was digitally cut into the heart shape. The metal base [indeed filigree] and the chain are painted. This picture is part of a story where a treasure chest is found on a beach. The chest contained besides others a jewellery box and a matching mirror. I had the box posted a while ago and will post more of the treasures from time to time.
