I was there in 1965 and not to take photographs. A photo like this of a beautiful young smiling girl brings sadness to me as I think about the war torn country and what their people have been through. No one, no child should have to endure such pain and misery. Wonderful shot of this cute child in her native dress.

What a beautiful, natural expression on this Gil's face. She is shy yet happy to receive the photographer's attention. The entire image is so natural - her wind-blown hair and the natural setting.
