This poor bewildered little solo chook is no doubt wondering what went wrong. In a short time her two offspring will be twice her size and entering the teenage years. What a life!

Wonderful initial impact. Creative concept. Beautiful lighting and focus is perfect. It is not easy to take one moving chicken, but you have caught all three birds in a perfect group pose. It has technical excellence and tells a very delightful story. Thank you for sharing it!

Nice sharp image of the hen and her chicks. Color 5 lighting 5 technical - focus, technique contrast, composition. nice capture. The babies dont look like hens though they look like baby emus or ostrichs or something different

Thank you so very much for the lovely review. She did not actually adopt them. The owner put turkey eggs in her nest to hatch, and she of course therefore thinks they are her own.

The title alone Cracks me up! Been dealing with some major flooding in my home town. So it is nice to see grass!
Love the wickedly clever idea of pairing up the Hen with the turkey chicks! Great story telling abilities here! Fine clarity and great humor to enter this in the contest!
Well done and thanks for the much needed laugh! ;)

Nice shot technically. Nice highlights and shadows making for additional interest.. Quite a humorous image. The Hen looks rather stoically at her " strange ' offspring. An excellent choice for the competition. Best of luck with that.

A great image, with a humorous twist. The composition is outstanding and the colors and details couldn't be better.
