You do get around. This a classic scene of the early days of communications. We have come a long ways baby. The European look to the phone is a fun look back. The lady appears to be aware of your shot but is playing the part well.

This is a very unique photograph. And to think that Agatha Christie used that phone in the room where she wrote that wonderful novel.
I love the candid approach you used as if it were every day that this lady was 'pretending to make a call'
I love the overall concept of the piece. Nicely framed.
Thank you so much for sharing.

interesting shot. I like the title of it. The picture has a lot of shadow in it around the phone cord and back of the head. You must have been using a camera mounted flash. They work better when not held directly over the picture

thanks; no flash used: enough light fromthe ceiling of the corridor where the phone was hanging

Your picture reminds us of a time when things were simpler and more intimate. This is a great shot, and the story behind it makes it that much more impressive.

Loved that book!
What a beautiful telephone and nice shot of the woman as well. A bit sharper focus would have been desired, but I like the simplicity of this shot.

Fred,
A great picture of the beautiful Lady making a call from the antique telephone. Beautiful composition, framing & lighting with superb camera techniques with razor sharp focus.
My Grandfather had the same telephone.

Candidly, friend, this doesn't seem to be your best work. It looks like you've got a cute idea, but it doesn't really translate into a very interesting pic. I do that all the time. Anyway, if the point is the phone, as the title suggests, it's too small. I just don't see whats Agatha Cristie ish here. Looks like a lady on the phone. Without the title, I'd be lost. Also, there are some technical issues, namely the shadows and the unnecessary space on the right. Cheers, James.
