You did a great work. I thought that really David was there. Love the composition, the texture and the color, like excellent DOF and good lighting. The focus is pin sharp. Well done.

A funny idea. I bet your Grandson will love it! Both photos were well shot. I do not see failure. Color, dept and focal are fine. The merge of the two photos is seamless.
It might be more dramatic if you make your grandson smaller, so that he would in a position of danger were the T-Rex could shot his mouth and swallow him like the wale did with Pinocchio.
