It must be the colors, but it is something very romantic about this scene, and you title fits so well this scene because both the sky and the sea has such silky look. The jetties being completely silhouetted, are standing out so sharp and well defined against all this glory. The photo is also taken at the exact right time of the day when the light is still warm and inviting.

What I think adds a lot to this photo is the morning mist rising from the see making the horizon just a hint.

This is of course also a very good example of when simplicity works at its best, and I do indeed like your POV. The editing has worked wonders and is done with a gentle hand. The format and framing is of course perfect. A truly lovely and well taken photo, and I wish you luck with the contest.
