It's the colors. Wow. Your blending of the background hues is amazing, and my eyes keep jumping back to the sight to take more in. The depth of the plant, with the darkest colors displaying a depth and beauty. The brightest orange stands as a bold invitation to come closer. Excellent.

This is a creative use of fractals which are usually put in the service of generating earthscapes. You've created some realistic dimension with light and shade. And the rich colors are put in the right places for contrast and tonal balance -- a beautiful composition.
