Quite an interesting shot of nature taking over from where man left off! Your fine, full and appropriate composition offers us a good look at the process. Exposure and sharpness are good. Nicely done!

The color on it is just perfect, really gives it a memorable look. It's like looking at a photo fondly of an old friend or family member, and the significance of this photo has stood the test of time, like pulling it out of a photo album and cherishing it. The vegetation growing on the hood of the car almost looks like a wreath, symbolizing the death of an old vehicle once full of life, like a symbol almost. It's really cool how such an image like this can speak volumes when put in a proper color context.

This late nineteen eighties/early nineteen nineties Dodge van must have been important to someone once though,Cleo!
But,as my Dad used to warn me,none of these old cars ended up in junk yards because they were good running vehicles! : )
That's an interesting picture,my friend!
( It's just the sort of thing that I really enjoy seeing! )

Thank you very much for your encouraging comments. I like your dad's explanation. I take it to heart when I discover any vihicled in junk yards. :o)

I always figured that my Dad was just trying to discourage me from dragging one 'junkyard jewel' after another home to 'beautify' our backyard until I lost interest in ir,Cleo! : )
You're very welcome,my friend!

Well, our tastes are different. I beautified my grandmas house with salamanders, frogs and snakes...LOL :o)

Kinda reminder of those designer Vans are almost gone. A constant reminder of time marching on. Lol. The clarity is good. The angle of the shot of this retired van with greenery is good. The capture of the light is good. The image is balance and eye appealing to the viewer. Good eye and good job overall

Very mysterious! Why would anyone leave a car out in the brush like that? It definitely leads your imagination to wonder. I like the use of black and white here. It makes the photo seem as though it was an old time photo. All technical elements are excellent. Good luck in the contest.

It's always so interesting to find abandoned vehicles in the middle of nowhere, it begs many questions ! Who left it, why was it left , when did they leave it, who owned it when it was first brand new, etc, I see the vine growing up around it, showing that nature continues to thrive around it.
This is well captured with good focus, this image is clear, the edits you applied give it a vintage look as well as a sense of mystery. Well composed and presented!

A curious situation to be sure, but it makes for some nice photography. The composition is excellent and the subtle colors are very pleasing to the eye. Best of luck in the contest.

Thank you Mike, I appreciate your review very much. Seems I always find curious stuff. Must be because I just cannot stay on roads and walkways. Something just draws me to the "wild" open country.

First of all the title is perfect for the scene and the gray scale highlights the abandoned feel. The grass or bushes beginning to cover the hood is shaped like a cross reminding one of a graveyard. The lighting almost makes it appear as if someone is sitting in the back sit on the left side. Just a little eerie...

Thank you very much for your throughout and encouraging review and the surprise of the high rating.
This place indeed has the aura of a overgrown graveyard. The "cross" growing over the hut and spread to the sides, clinging to the windshield wipers is a morning glory vine.
