LOVE IT!! This is great. The low lighting is perfect and the tight crop fills the scene with nostalgia. The planked floor and the old brick wall dates this back to when the broom was the all purpose cleaning tool. and the muddy boots indicate hard manual work. Great scene and best of luck in the contest.

Now this is my kinda photography. I love what you've done to the overall scene but what makes it my favourite is how you've captured two very simple subjects and brought them alive. The texture is just wonderful and muted colours and tones are totally immense. It's edgy and I love edgy. I'd give you a six if I had one. LOVE THIS.

Now this is my kinda photography. I love what you've done to the overall scene but what makes it my favourite is how you've captured two very simple subjects and brought them alive. Thank you. I shot this outside on my porch in natural light with aperture priority setting and with a mini tripod. There wasn't any sun but the light was bright. :)

awesome focus, your adjustment let the textures and details stand out perfectly
I also think that your slight vignette brings the focus more into the center creating a good DOF
contrast and indoor lighting are excellent
distance, angle and frame well combined

expressive is correct, reminds me of constantly sweeping off the side porch when my husband would be out in the field for weeks during training in the military, if the boots were black I'd almost swear you saw them there LOL.
