Annie you certainly did a beautiful job with this. The bird is so well focused and the background really compliments your point of interest. Excellent camera techs combined with very well chosen post processing deserves a 6. Thank you for sharing.

Beautiful. I love starlings. I believe you picked the perfect lens (topaz). The background is not taking away from the feathered friend, who seems to be looking right at the camera lens. The feathers are brilliant. You did a very good job.

Not a bird photographer? Jeez, I have see way worse captures. This one seems perfect. Those details in plumage and face are amazing. Especially the eye with those reflections in it. I also like very much what you have done to the background. It looks quite natural and convincing, as if it is the away natural background.

I really love what you have done in post processing but I am always in awe of your artistic visions. The oil paint filter applied with expertise - not too much or too little. Topaz is definitely your friend as well. Beautiful background to compliment the plum in the Starling's feathers.

I really love what you have done in post processing but I am always in awe of your artistic visions. The oil paint filter applied with expertise - not too much or too little. Topaz is definitely your friend as well. Beautiful background to compliment the plum in the Starling's feathers.

such a different capture of this dark bird with its iridescent colours, great focus and clarity, nice detail on the eye and beak with a good catch light, I like the moody back ground and the bird is well placed in the frame, the filters work really well on this, well done, very creative.
