Nature never ceases to amaze. The extraordinay color on this pod is a sight to behold. The light captured in the photo emphasizes not only the colors but the unusual sstructure of this seed pod. Love the blurred background against the sharp focus on the pod. Great work.

a nice capture of this unusual seed pod, I like the lacy like foliage which surrounds it, you have captured it from a great angle showing a lot of detail, good colour and clarity, the seed pod stands out very well against the blurred back ground, well framed, thanks for sharing.

Not sure from your review Anna what it was you DIDN'T like??? Are you familiar w/ the rating system....how it works??? Go to 'Community' (above) then 'Q&A'. There's a very good explanation re: reviewing and point system. Perhaps you might want to read it??

This is such a wonderful looking photo. The seed pod itself is actually quite beautiful. Nature fascinates me. I love watching the different steps of a blossoms life and the intricate way seeds become flowers full of petals but only for a short period then they perish not appearing again until the following year.
Your photo crisp and full of radiant color. The contrast and sharpness is top notch. Most excellent indeed. Thanks for sharing.

It for sure has a special seed pot and again I wish I had a 6 left
excellent capture, your macro just strikes in sharpness showing any tiny texture of the center
your contrast and lighting is special again fairy like with the few light spots on the structure - super DOF and macro blurred background letting your subject stand out in perfection

I think your picture is well framed , well centered, taken from a nice angle and position
the color saturation is fantastic love the slightly shining bud

well composed, excellent presentation, thanks for sharing

Creative concept. Innovative approach. Imaginative presentation. Unique fruit as if fully guarded by these network of thorns preventing creatures from damaging the seed capsule.
A rare find!
Nice perspective & narrow DOF.
Excellent backdrop.
Subtle illumination.
Selective focusing.
Thanks for sharing...

Awesome work! Powerful initial impact! This work has an "alien feel" to it! Very unusual things capture the imagination and demand discussion! Amazing color, detail and subject matter! Job well done!

I have another plant Carl...an ECHINOPS, that I actually call my 'Alien Plant'....but do agree that this one here looks alien as well. Thank you so very much for the marvelous review...and, of course, that fantastic rating. I am most appreciative.

I am sure the flower is beautiful but I find the seed pods can be just as dramatic. It has a very unusual striped appearance that you have captured very well. Your focus is great and I like how you filled the frame. The lovely green background really compliments the seed pods.
