Linda, what a wonderful; tribute!!! And an awesome picture!! I will be praying for your daughter as I will also be praying for this little boys mother! I am going to a funeral tomorrow for my best friends brother who died unexpectedly Tuesday night from complication from pneumonia. He also had non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma, but he was in remission from that. He went to the doctor on the 17th of December with what he thought was a very bad flu or cold and the doctor sent him home saying that it was a viral thing that it would just have to wear itself out. My friends brother went home and collapsed at home the very next morning and had been in ICU since then with double pneumonia and a staph infection. He was put on life support on the 20th and had had 10 strokes when they did an MRI on Tuesday. So they decided to take him off the life support at 1:p.m. on Tues. and he died at 10:15 that night. His family is devastated. He was fine a month ago and now he is gone... God knows who He wants to take though and when.

God Bless you Linda...for your efforts and your heart. And may he give your daughter strength and hope in her fight.

Your art continues to fascinate me with it's reality. Your shading is your signature technique to my notion. You have a gift that cannot be taught, I believe.

Thank you for sharing this heart wrenching story and your wonderful work of art. Family is the core of my existence. Your story brings me to my knees.

It is an awesome drawing of this brave young man. He is in God's hands now. I bet his mother is thrilled with this amazing work of art. His face comes to life and he looks happy in the mix of everything going on. I love it and could say nothing to help this image as you have done so well on it! Blessings

First of all, God Bless your compassion for these children. This will be such a precious gift for his mother. The great smile and his dancing eyes shows his strength and courage. Your deft hand with the medium used has captured a feeling of hope and strength. Thank you.

I really like how you were able to capture the velvet-like surface of the boy's sweater. Great attention to shading. You must have taken a lot of time on this. The detail on everything is so well done, especially the proportions. The poignant message in the art's description adds more to the sadness of the image, giving it a sense of timelessness, capturing a moment in this boy's life.

Very difficult to take in this story with detailed picture. All I can say ,you portrayed to us a tragic tale of fight for life but why so young do they have to go. For you to even contemplate doing this fine study,my heart goes out to you. You have no doubt stopped throughout your drawing to stop many times to ask "Why?". You have done a wonderful act in giving this to his mum and you have created such a happy work but oh so sad. Thank you.

I feel so sad when reading your notes about this brave little boy. He so much deserved to live on, and I very often feel that life can be so unfair. This is a beautiful tribute to him, and I am sure everybody who knew him will remember his lovely smile.

Your drawing of him is of course perfect in every way, and together with the notes also touching. As always your attention to every little detail is obvious, and your use of light exquisite.

I like very much the all neutral background, the format of the drawing, the close and personal approach and the placement of the boy on the paper. So well done Linda, and so touching.
