I like the impressionist style of painting in this piece. The greens and blues really look nice together and I like the variety of greens along with the light spilling onto the top right side. The contrasting darker blue on the bottom left really balances out the entire space. There is just enough detail without being overdone. Nice Work. Good luck.

That's a pleasantly attractive digital creation!
The bright 'Electric Blue' of the blossoms against the classic green background looks particularly nice in this one!

I like this work. The various shades of blue contrasted with the bright whites is very eye catching. The green background and the grays add depth and dimension to the scene. Very well done. Best of fortune in the contest ~ Steve

Visually soothing rendition with light impasto strokes.
Harmonious colors.
The gray patches lends a non finitio look.
Fine features & textures.
Thanks for sharing...

A very nice painting of lovely blue flowers. I like that you used different shades of blue. Flowers do have gradations in color. The gray and greenThe thing is how does the viewer know that these are tropical flowers? Shouldn't we know that by looking? Not exactly a criticism but an artistic inquiry. :-)

Thank you for your kind review.
I am not sure what you mean with your questions. I do not think that tropical flowers, especially wildflowers have a typical tropical look. The flowers in the painting grow close the ground and are less than 1/2 inch in diameter. Most people probably would step on those flowers without noticing them.
-
ok. Showing my ignorance...blue is an unusual color in tropical flowers. Right? Wrong? You titled your work "Tropical Wildflowers". But in your painting, (which is truly lovely) There is no indication of the tropics. these flowers could be growing anywhere. If you tell me they!!
-
Once again, I really do not understand you critique.
I tell in my title that they are tropical. How can I show in my painting that the are tropical? I do not know their species, nor their name. I could not find them in any of my books, nor on the internet. It looks exactly like this where they grow. If I write in my comments about the location many people would know, who I am. That would be against the incognito rule of the contest. So please tell me what you wish that I do!
[I will add the location when the contest is over.]

You know what, I am sorry I mentioned it. I specifically said the my comment was not a criticism.
I thought blue was an unusual color for a tropical flower. That is all. I am sorry to have caused such consternation. It is a beautiful painting no matter what.
-
Thank you very much for your kind reply. Blue is not as unusual in some areas of the tropics. There are for example Lantana monteverde, several Ruelia species, sea beans and many other vines, even blue Orchids. Some wild growing species have no name at all.
-
Thank you. I guess I need to spend more time in the tropics. lol

You do not need too. :o)
