Simple shot with all sorts of pieces that keep the viewer "on" the picture for a long time.

Your control of the mix of darker and lighter parts of the picture is masterful.

We get that type of ground fog here in New Hampshire.

Love the repeated deep orange in the deep background and in the foreground.

Very well done neighbor!

    LOL...well hello there neighbor. I had to keep pulling myself back. I found myself entranced and had to keep telling myself to pay attention to my camera as well as to what was in front of me. Your comments reminded me of that Steve so thank you for that and for sharing some sparkle of your own w/ my new post. I really do appreciate it. Wonder if it's something about the hills around us that causes this??

Great shot and depth of field! You captured one of those "Once in a lifetime" moments! It's almost as if the sky is inverted.

    I was enthralled by this scene Bill.....and so happy my camera was not far off. Thank you so much for having a look at this one and especially for sharing a gold star w/ it. I really do appreciate both.

OMG! You have captured the actual "Blue Fog of the Blog Bladder Beast of Thrall". I am sure you don't appreciate the magnitude of this capture. The Blog Bladder Beast of Thrall always moves in a blue fog to avoid detection. It is one of the most Deadly creatures known. Fortunately it is one of the dumbest. If you ever run into one face to face, quickly put a bag over your head. It is so incredibly stupid that it thinks that if you can't see it then it can't see you. Just trying to keep you safe Deb. I love this scene. Almost surreal like a painting. Damn you're good ~ Steve

    Well what a treat this morning Steve....to realize I avoided the dreaded "Blue Fog of the Blog Bladder Beast of Thrall" and you're quite right. I had no idea of the magnitude of this capture. Why I am just plain lucky to still be here. I will make sure next time I'm anywhere near the Far Orchard that I have a paper bag handy! ahahahah...well the REAL treat Steve was the shiny gold star you shared w/ my new post. You're a nut AND a PEACH...all at the same time so thank you for the warning...lol...but especially for being so generous.

This image is quite surreal Deborah. I share your thoughts as regards an unusual phenomenon. At first glance it almost looks like smoke from a bonfire beyond the first row of trees. I can only guess that the blue tinge is some sort of reflection. A pleasure to view.

whatever the possible explanation Deborah, it is a wonderful atmospheric capture with the different rows of pine trees separated by fog;
very nice colors with sharp focus;

An interesting and mysterious story behind this beautiful picture, with the lovely light blue fog mentioned settling into the forest. The contrast with the trees is wonderful and the clarity is great. Great pic.

Well, like they say, there is a first time for everything! Like your composition of the gorgeous autumn scene before you. Exposure and sharpness are fine. Well done!

This shot made me homesick to visit the Smokey Mountain's again. It makes the viewer feel the fog is luring you in. The gold of some trees adds a good depth to the entire photo. A peaceful, restful photo. Thanks for posting it.
