Brand new member! Hello Gary....glad to see you are both posting and reviewing...good for you! I do appreciate you having a look at my new piece....and thank you for the very fine review you've given it. A suggestion though Gary...not sure if you have familiarized yourself w/ the very good section on reviewing (under 'Q&A' in the header on your page) When you give an artist a 'less-than' (a rating under '5') most of them will be expecting for you to note what the technical 'issue' was you found and/or a suggestion on how to improve it. It IS a learning site....we can all learn from one another.

I like the out of ordinary presentation with the upside down perspective. Your exposure is nice and balanced allowing both highlights and shadows to shine through with nice detail. Focus, crop, color ... all nicely handled. Kathy

I am easily bored w/ 'typical' flower images Kathy....this pretty upside down blossom w/ the lovely curl at the end of the petals drew me immediately so thank you so much for checking it out....and I do appreciate the very nice review you've given it.

Oh my! You are so right to have taken this photo in the evening. The dramatic black background and just enough soft light brings out all the beauty in this white rose. I think I especially like the way the petals curl, something you may not see if the photo was taken from the front of the flower. Excellent work.

Oh I liked everything about this particular blossom Cathy.....mostly that it was upside down AND the really pretty curl at the ends of several of the petals so thank you for mentioning that. That's a wonderful review you've given my new piece and I do really appreciate it....as well as the gold star you shared...so I thank you for all of it.

Seeing the calyx against the white petals is partly what attracted me to this particular blossom....and the fact that it was upside down....lol...I get so bored w/ the 'typical' flower shots. Your beautiful lighting illuminating this rose and it's details beautifully. I like the simplicity of your shot and that you have captured those wonderful details on the back of the rose. Glad to see you reviewing Joshua and do appreciate you checking out my new piece. I have absolutely no problem w/ a less-than rating but I would suggest that when you give one you either state what you see that could be improved upon and/or how to improve it. I realize that rating is somewhat subjective but it is always a good idea to try to back it up so the photographer/artist can easily see what the issue was.
