The iridescent color in the wings of this bird is perfectly captured and so beautifully presented. The detail is Fantastic and the pattern in its wing looks incredible. Like a plane taking off, this is a wonderful shot of this bird in flight. Really a pleasure to view.

Nice stop action which captures the grackle in mid flight, nice capture of the fanned out wings which show beautiful colours and detail. Sharp focus and great eye capture, the bird is well placed in the scene and stands out nicely against the blue sky. Nice work.

Cool,Grace! : )
Next to the Corvideans ( my beloved Crows and Ravens ) these things rank among my favorite types of birds and your photograph of this Serious looking specimen 'on the wing' looks Great!
And the bright blue sky acting as the background is especially eye catching!

A very nice shot. The bird is very sharp and the iridescent highlights in the wing feathers is outstanding. Nicely composed with great colors. Best of luck in the contest.

Hi Grace! Don't you just love these guys? I did not know you had them that far north as well.
Their colors truly are so gorgeous when the sun hits them right.
Your stop action is good and love that catch shown off to its fullest!

Wow. For me Grace this have such a powerful initial impact. The position of the bird reminds me of an aircraft climbing for altitude. That eye has such a look of concentration. Of course those iridescent feathers are the crème de la crème of this wonderful capture. Certainly one of the better photos of a bird that I have seen here. You are just so talented Grace. Thank you so much for sharing this image and giving me the wonderful experience of viewing ~ Steve
