What a funny sounding bird. I think I would like to see one in person one day. On the Cape where I grew up we had only mallards nice reflection. The water looks nice and calm.

Not the prettiest of birds but a striking shot that is both simple and elegant. The colors are fantastic and the reflection could not be better. Great detail in the plumage and a well defined eye.

This is a great look at this Coot on lovely smooth blue water! The red eye really shows up well. I like the Coot's reflection in the water too.

I really like the mirror image reflected in the water. We can tell there is no strong breeze as the only movement on the water is created but the coot paddling forward. It's red eye is striking. I like how the reflected light shows the water rolling off the ducks back.
