This is truly lovely,the gray waters setting off the translucent wing feathers,you were definitely in the right place at the right time,enabling you a very unique photo.Does truly remind one of a heavenly angel.The image is so very sharp,you were able to frame it well in your shot,the subtle lighting perfect,very well done! What a great image!! You have captured it very well with NO blur. SUrprised seeing that you had ISO at 320. Wow. Well done. Great focus and stop action. Nice framing and a great subject.

Thank you very much! The bird was very bright, so I had to be careful with how much light I let into the lens, and I wanted to get detail of the plumage to show. I would have been sad if I overexposed this one after waiting so long to see an egret this year :)

Reminds me of the egret I saved in a grocery store in FL once. He was about to kill himself on the window at the front of the store trying to frantically get out. I managed to calm it and carry it outside so it could fly away to freedom. Good lighting and focus. Thank you for sharing.

It does look like an angel in flight in this image. I like the way the water drops from its long and extended legs. The only sense of sky comes from the clouds reflected in the gray water.
