Very interesting! I have seen some banana trees folks have planted in whiskey barrels. I don't remember ever seeing the flower. Was this in a botanical garden somewhere?

Thank you so very much for the lovely review Willie. The photo was taken in a garden in Stoupa in Greece.

I learned something new today!! I have never seen, nor heard about this. Does the flower ever bloom so you can see what's inside? This would have been a great entry for the color green contest. The lighting is perfect on the bananas. Thank you, teacher.

The camera angle and lighting in this photo really lend a tropical ambiance; love these banana flowers such as the wide open one I painted in Tea in the Mist, some varieties grow so big!! Great, really professional photo, terrific subject! Thanks for sharing! Daphne Oberon

I find this interesting as I have never seen a banana flower before! Framing this on the diagonal is an attractive composition. The lighting is nice and your exposure brings out the colors well.

Nice one Annie. The first time I saw one of these I thought it looked like the spine of some creature hanging in a tree. Then I noticed the bananas and figured out what it was.
Such a strangely unique almost primordial look of a flower from a most sweet fruit producing plant.
Nice work with the sharp focus and coloring of the flower showing good details. I also really like your gentle softening of the background as it gives a jungle look and feel.
Well done as always my friend ~ Steve

Would have never thought that it would grow downward like that.I like the angle of the shot and the sharp focus, giving us a nice view of the bananas as well as this unique purple flower which stands out well against all the tropical green foliage. Many thanks for the interesting and informative artist's notes,I learned something new today! :)

Nice image, Annie, and very interesting as well. Strange that the flower is produced so far away from the fruit. That's a long way for the pollen to travel. Really well photographed - nice color, excellent details and composition.

This is so very interesting to study! I have never seen a banana flower before , it's awesome the way it points downward with the bananas growing up above it. It reminds me of a paper lantern. This is well photographed with good focus, the image is clear, exposure is well managed, the colors and tones are natural. Well composed allowing a good sense of how the banana flower and bananas grow. Well presented!
