Different type of image Fred! That squre frame works in this case it focues on the pair and when you do you cant but notice the pin sharp detail in those feathers, also your info is very detailled and for me I have learnt something.
One thing springs to mind evertime I look ai them the Luney Tunes cartoon character "Foghorn Leghorn"

Barbu d'Uccle chickens with their unique mottled plumage & feathered legs the light glowing through their combs & their shadows on the grass are an added bonus. the cockrel on the left & the hen on the right. Beautiful composition, framing & lighting taken with superb camera techniques& sharp focus.
