I love pelicans and I am currently collecting inspiration photos for a design I have in my mind. I love the crook of his neck has he preens those under wing feathers. The yellow head is a pretty spot of color on this type of pelican.

Great capture of this Pelican in action. I am always amazed as I watch these birds with their gangly bill so deftly preen and keep the oils on their feathers.

The photo is well taken with the subject placed perfectly in the scene. The blue out of focus background emphasizes the bird drawing attention to the activity.
