Wow! This looks like a well made painting!:) Wonderful capture of the colourful mountain. The light and shadows, colours and the composition have worked out well. Good effort!

Are the rocks different colours from geological reasons, or is it sunlight catching a part of the rocks. I love that one tree in the middle standing alone, an a forest behind it. That is me in tree form! /I loooooooove trees!

A beautiful mountain scene. I think the steely gray clouds compliment the rugged mountains very well. The foreground foliage is very nice and the colors are beautiful.

A gorgeous landscape scene ....beautiful colors captured in the mountains. Your lighting is spectacular! Very well photographed in good lighting, sharp focus, and outstanding details and clarity in your image. Good differentiation and contrast.....your play with light and shadows is perfect as well. Beautiful work Pat and thanks for sharing!

I should have been an Alaskan. I can see why these are called the Rainbow Mountains. The sky is ominous. It should be. It is getting close to October. I just love that one single yellow gold tree. I also bet that is why you stopped and took this photograph. And I have to honor your husband for his patience letting you have your will. Hope that is closer to the truth than a sexist shot. One never knows these days. Reasons for my five star vote.

Thank you so much Carl! I laughed because you spotted that gold tree and picked it as the reason I took this shot and you are exactly right! I will tell my husband you appreciate his patience, he?s really happy to stop the RV, his only request is that I give him enough notice so he can stop without slamming on the brakes, if we miss a shot heading out,we stop and get it on the return trip! We were in Valdez last month, I took several shots in the Keystone Canyon and then my camera malfunctioned and I lost all the shots,we were 100 miles past it when I noticed the missing images, he drove me back the next day to recapture them!

You are welcome Pat. And, thanks for the additional information. It is really nice to hear from someone who has the same kind of knowledgeable, trusting and secure marriage that my wife and I enjoy.

Well, the mountains certainly are appropriately named and well shown as to why in your photo. Between the colors of the mountains and the beginnings of the fall colors in the trees, your capture presents a grounded rainbow. Beautifully done = = another tourist brochure submission for Alaska.

Pat,
A beautiful picture of the Rainbow Mountains between North Pole & Glenallen under an overcast sky with a sunbeam breaking through a gap in the overhead clouds to light up the mountain slope on the left & make the Aspen glow in it's Autumn gold with the dark Pines behind its the base of the mountains. Beautiful composition framing and lighting taken with superb camera techniques and sharp focus.

Nice shot. Did you do any HDR on this? There seems to be a bit of Halo around the mountains and I am not sure why. I can see where the name comes from. Interesting mountains. Good color good focus in the shot, Well seen.

Thank you Charles, no HDR, the light is on the right and behind this mountain, the sun is very low in the sky.
