This is a beautiful low key portrait of this Barn Swallow! I like how the light illuminates the face and front of the bird while the rest of photo fades into darkness. Very well done!

I like it! It's so Gracious! It appears just right, exactly like I would paint this. Perfectly taken and adjusted and presented, this image has a long lasting positive impression in my brain. Nicely done Grace! My highest compliments with the highest raiting!

Your lighting worked. The Swallow is glowing out from the darkness. Especially the read markings above draw attention. The reflections at the beak are remarkable also. The photo is well focused and exposed. Despite the darkness, details are sharp and refined. The colors are realistic. The photo is well composed and framed.

It's dark Envision, very dark ... and quite beautiful. I love darkness in an image and the contrast of light therein. (you can't see the stars unless the sky is black). Perhaps just a little more light in the eye for that seventh star :-) Stunning, keep it up !!!

Grace,
A beautiful & subdued portrait of this Barn Swallow highlighting it's red mask throat, beak & the sparkle in it's eye. Beautiful composition framing and atmospheric lighting taken with superb camera techniques and sharp focus.

You for sure reached your goal as this portrait is perfect just letting this bird grow out of the darkness gives it a special effect and great DOf
it is clear I focus and perfectly sharp so even in the dark everything is well visible
Contrast and lighting are special as the bird stands out very well even by also being black -you did a great job with camera settings as the bird is merging so well with the background that it seems to be natural
excellent composition - well done

Quite a nice, yet strange, to me, bird portrait posted here! Your lighting, or should I say lack of it is the major theme of this fine shot. Your moody image is well composed and sharp with good exposure. Like that big eye and rugged beak. Nicely done!

Your dark light condition is a success

The impact is of strong drama and mystery.

Your subject is in good focus. Your positioning excellent the highlight on his beak, above and below is just enough and comes through as natural colour. I particularly like the tinge blue too on the wing shoulder. This is very artistic and a pleasure to see.

Oh how eye catching Grace. The low light level is very effective in the portrait. The lighting is superb and the colors are subdued just enough to give this a Wonderful look and feel. A Great photo Grace and worth More than six stars. Bravo ~ Steve

This is really cool Grace. I can imagine young Lucas wanting to paint a version of this photo. Having the light bright enough to see all the orange/red colors and the outline of the bird makes for a very interesting portrait. Well done!
