This is an amazing image of one of my favorite birds. The homage to detail is wonderful, and it expresses the true nature. There's really nothing I would change, maybe add another leaf in the upper right corner to further balance the photo.

I think this reminders me of a scientific type painting by the way the branch that the bird is sitting on fades into the negative space, making the bird the image, like a scientific plate, Audubon type of presentation.
The colors on the jay are very nice and realistic in their appearance and the patterns on the features, all of that is very well painted. I do think a pupil,or hint of an iris and pupil would have made it a prefect piece. (If the eye was better, it could have been a 6)

The Blue Jay looks very realistic. Almost like a photo while the autumn leaves have a "looser" style. I like the contrast and also the slight texture of the light background, like you would expect to see in an oil painting.
The bird is done paying very good attention to even the smallest detail, and the brush work is just excellent. You did not even miss out the high light in the eye.
I also think the composition is spot on with the diagonal branch and how the leaves are placed on each side of the bird. It is a very good balance between positive and negative space. A truly beautiful and well done digital painting Cleo.

This is beautiful and the Blue Jay looks so realistic! I love the pose of the Blue Jay and the way the branch he is perched on fades out near the top and bottom of the frame. Very nicely done!

Beautiful painting.
I dont see many blue Jay's anymore in the midwest. Wonder why? such a pretty color. Your painting looks great. Great detailing and the scale looks fantastic.i like the white backdrop as well.

And. I like the simple yet textured white background. I like how strongly it shows through, yet, by it's simplification, does not distract from the bluejay at all. :) Talented work!
