A gorgeous capture of this brilliantly colored kingfisher,Susan,I'm so happy he decided to cooperate so you could get this shot! I just love his colors, this is beautifully focused, excellent catchlight.lovely iridescence in those head feathers;his pose is perfect, and I like how the darkness in the foliage behind him frames him so well and makes him stand out. Congrats on a wonderfully taken photo!

This is a brilliant capture. Your kingfisher is picture perfect almost posing for you. His colours are vibrant and he really pops against that glorious green foliage. On a branch especially provided for your shot lol. Clarity is good, focus excellent, saturated colours have impact. Good positioning and timed capture.

Outstanding detail and color in this Kingfisher shot Susan.
I think the well defined head and detailed feathers is magnificent in this image.
The complimentary colors also make your subject eye-catching and a terrific stand out. Another exceptional shot Susan!

You captured this little bird excellently. Its posture is interesting. The bird seems to observe something above. The colorful plumage of the Kingfisher is attractive. Your photo well focused and exposed and has good depth. I enjoy the sharpness of detail and the realism of light and color. The bird is perfect placed within the frame. The composition is balanced.

Yes the Kingfisher's are never easy to Photograph. I see them every day on a telephone wire. The minute I get my camera out... They are gone in a nano second.
You have a fine capture here Susan showing nice colors, details and sharp focus.
Well done :)

Sandra,
Thanks a million for your complementary review on this little Kingfisher. It was serendipity that I stopped my car on the way to the Bank when I noticed people with cameras & long lens all lined along the river wall .... Knowing it was more than likely the Kingfisher that was in their sights... I parked the car ran across the road got out my Compact camera fired off this & 17 more shots before carrying on to the bank...As you say they are more than often seen as a blue "Bullet" flashing past me.

Wonderful composition of this Kingfisher sitting on the proper branch, positioned diagonally across the picture. Beautiful coloring and nice green background. The light shining is nice contrast and adds interest for the picture.

A great pose and a very fine shot. This kingfisher is much more colorful than the variety I see around my lake in Michigan. A beautiful specimen in a great setting.
