I like the bright colors you used in the background and the silhouette for the man. When I think of human art form, I think of musculature. I see the outline of a man with loose clothes on. For me, I think it would have been more effective if the man was at least, shirtless.

Yes and I would think the same thing..the sad part is the committee is a lil different about what they expect...for almost a decade I have tried that..so I'm going this approach and with clothes on makes more realistic than some movie like scene..defies logic but the committee makes the decision. So I'm rolling the dice again..Wink. Thanks for the good review

The silhouettes man is done in great details band stands out do well from the Gorgeous rainbow like background. The colors, textures and details are all incredible here Dude.

Very realistic, could be a photo in silhouette your drawing is so lifelike.
Good colour combination, both attractive with impact and toning.

This is a fine entry for the contest Mark, and I especially like the rainbow colors of the background. It looks like it is done by pointillism, and this makes the colors blend into each other in such a lovely way. This also adds textures.
The silhouetted man and the foreground are standing out sharp and well defined against the colorful background, and I like the feel of motion in the man.
The format and framing is working well and the man has got a fine placement within the frame. A truly great looking and well done drawing, and I wish you luck with the contest.

actually AV it was done with both styles..i layer in the colors then go back and blend in with pointillism..i was out of cardstock when i started this project so had to use a sheet of computer paper..that type of paper doesnt hold in the ink that well like cardstock. im pleased that you enjoyed this..you know i came real close just posting this and not putting in the contest..i doubt seriously this will be the best for the contest to be consider..this year we have some awesome talent out there so just being placed will be a challenge and i know that..wink. glad you enjoyed and thanks for the great review.

this reminds me of my days as a thai boxer and also certain exercises i used to do later for inner strength (used in tai chi practice). the latter is very good for men as we don't have as much internal strength as women, so we tend to die off quicker. i like this particular pose you show. it's almost like one of those eastern bloc statues. it shows a great diversity in your work.
