Those Dahlias are lovely. Their shades of colors are beautiful. Although, realistic, the petals seem like silk. Your photo is perfect focused and exposed and has good depth. I am impressed by the realism of color and light compared with sharpness of detail. The black and white background emphasizes the flowers perfectly. The photo is expertly composed and framed. The composition is balanced.

I would have opted to darken the background a bit just to show them off better.. cause they need to be seen as they are so wonderful!
But that is me and certainly does not take away from your ability to shoot a great shot!

yes, I agree it turned out to be a really good photo showing these beautiful flower. I like shooting with the intent to do very little with the computer, seeing how I have no software to do specific things to photographs.

My first thought about these two Dahlias in such splendor was the first flower. It seems to almost take control by resting on top. And, the other one holding the flower up in unity.
The colors are beautiful and complimentary. The light and shadows add to these flowers.

A beautiful picture of these two beautiful Waterlily Dahlias The deep pink one with a white centre & the white one pink tips to it's petals which are open to expose the gold tipped stamens in the centre.. beautifully framed by their dark green foliage & a white trellis glowing in the sunshine. Artistic composition, framing & lighting taken with superb camera techniques & sharp focus. Good luck in the contest.
